Nutrition-Diets Part 4

DIETS THAT ALREADY KILL MORE PEOPLE THAN  TOBACCO

The foods we eat are contributing to the early death of some 11 million people a year, according to a recent study published in the prestigious magazine The Lancet.

The latest edition of the Study of the Global Burden of Diseases found that our daily diet already kills more than tobacco and is currently linked to one in five deaths worldwide.

And the salt – whether it is contained in bread, soy sauce or processed foods – is the one that cuts the greatest number of lives worldwide.

The Study of the Global Burden of Diseases is the most authoritative assessment of the causes of death of people in all countries of the world.

And the most recent analysis used estimates of the eating habits of 195 countries to determine how often the diet shortened lives.

The research, the researchers explain, was not about obesity, but about “poor quality” diets that damage the heart and cause cancer. What diets cause more damage?

According to the research, dangerous diets are those that contain: Too much salt (causing three million deaths) Very few whole grains (three million deaths) Very little fruit (two million) The rest of the main causes were associated with low levels in the consumption of nuts, seeds, vegetables, fiber and omega-3 from seafood.

“We found that diet is one of the dominant drivers of health worldwide. It is something that has a lot of weight,” Professor Christopher Murray, director of the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

Why is what we eat killing people?

About 10 of the 11 million dietary-related deaths were due to cardiovascular disease, which explains why salt is such a serious problem.

Too much salt raises blood pressure, which in turn increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Salt can also have a direct effect on the heart and blood vessels, which can cause heart failure.

Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables have the opposite effect: they are “cardio protective” and reduce the risk of heart problems. Cancers and type 2 diabetes made up the rest of the diet-related deaths.

Anna Díaz Font of the Global Fund for Cancer Research told the PA agency: “This study is very important because it demonstrates the important role that diet plays in the health of individuals and populations.”

“Our research shows that having a poor diet increases the risk of cancer and obesity, which further increases the risk of 12 different types of cancer.”

More nuts and seeds?

According to the study, the healthy foods that were lacking in most diets worldwide are nuts and seeds.

That lack is, in fact, the leading cause of dietary-related deaths throughout Latin America.

And the regular readers of BBC Mundo will have realized that these same foods were largely included in the “planetary diet” that was released in January, to help save lives, the planet and feed 10,000 millions of people.

So why don’t we eat them?

Professor Nita Forouhi, from the University of Cambridge, says: “The perception is that they are small packages of energy that will make you fat. But the truth is that they are full of good fats.”

“And most people don’t see them as a common food. The other problem is their cost.”

Nueces.Nuts are not only for squirrels

I thought meat and sugar were bad foods … The huge debate about fat and sugar and the link between red and processed meat with cancer have attracted big headlines in recent years.

“These foods can be harmful, as we have explained. But they are a much smaller problem than the low consumption of whole grains, fruits, nuts, seeds, and vegetables,” says Murray. Which countries in the world consume more meat (and there is one in Latin America) The study also showed that everywhere in the world there is high consumption of soft drinks.

Researchers warn that it is time for health campaigns to stop talking about nutrients such as fat and sugar and instead promote healthy foods. Is it worth a tasty but unhealthy diet?

According to the researchers, bad eating habits are reducing the life expectancy of people around the world for several years. But Murray warns that the important questions we should ask ourselves are: “Am I going to die at age 50 from a heart attack?

Will I have some of the diet-related cancers at age 40?” Which countries have a better diet? Mediterranean countries have one of the lowest numbers of dietary-related deaths worldwide.

In fact, Israel has the lowest dietary-related death rate on the entire planet: 89 per 100,000 people, per year, followed by France and Spain. The countries of Southeast, South and Central Asia, meanwhile, are at the opposite end of the spectrum. And the country with the worst rate of deaths most related to diet is Uzbekistan: 892 per 100,000 people, per year.

BEAUTY

What is the definition of this word? How do we see BEAUTY? Can we really or anyone say; what is the MOST beautiful women or men or child of the planet Earth?

Peul Wodaabe Pastoralists Gathering – Niger. Tagayet

Is this beautiful for you? How will you see this? or more important How in Africa they see this?
Now How do you see her? but now look at the next one.
Now my question is: What is more attractive to you the image above or this one in Africa?

WELL TO ANSWER AND IN REALITY IS NOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER GO TO THE PAGE AND READ MY ARTICLE UNDER BEAUTY WORLDWIDE.

BEAUTY WORLDWIDE

INCLUDING NON CELEBRITIES OR MODELS

BUT ONE MOMENT CAN WE REALLY SAY THIS 100%?

Before we show images lets talk about beauty.

Sometimes we think that beauty has to do with only people that are models or actors or celebrities and yes we have to include them here but there is a lot a beauty out there and my opinion and I wish to know yours.

What is the definition of Beauty or Beautiful?

Definition of beauty. 1 : the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit : loveliness a woman of great physical beauty exploring the natural beauty of the island A thing of beauty is a joy forever …—Jul 15, 2019

This is a general definition and I will say it gets to the point. But the reality is that is subjective and also here is the most important one and that is that the beauty that is suppose to be the most important one is the one inside as a person because the PHYSICAL is something that will go away in time but not the QUALITIES OR INTERIOR OUR SYMBOLIC HEART. But we recognize that when someone or something is very attractive or unique well is alright to recognize that. I read a very interesting article base on Bible principles which I think is very helpful to see this subject. Here is some information base on the article.

 THE BIBLE’S VIEWPOINT

Physical Beauty

A healthy attitude toward physical beauty can mean the difference between happiness and unhappiness.

Why do we appreciate beauty?

In ways that are still a mystery, the human brain perceives beauty. The Bible does not explain how this happens, but it does reveal why we have an aesthetic sense: God endowed us with his attributes. (Genesis 1:27; Ecclesiastes 3:11) He also created the highly complex human body, giving it amazing form and function. In that regard, an ancient songwriter said: “I praise you [God] because in an awe-inspiring way I am wonderfully made.”—Psalm 139:14.

Today, though, attitudes toward physical beauty are often unbalanced—a trend promoted by the fashion industry and the popular media. According to the book Body Image, a number of studies in Western cultures “suggest that body image is the single most important factor in a person’s overall self-image.” Such a narrow focus, however, can mean ignoring something far more important—an individual’s heart.—1 Samuel 16:7.

Many cultures place unhealthy emphasis on body image and sexuality

Hand in hand with the focus on the body is growing overemphasis on sexuality, especially that of women. “Virtually every media form studied,” says a 2007 American Psychological Association (APA) report, “provides ample evidence of the sexualization of women.” The Bible firmly encourages us to avoid being influenced by such trends—and for good reason!—Colossians 3:5, 6.

“Do not let your adornment be external . . . , but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible adornment of the quiet and mild spirit, which is of great value in the eyes of God.”1 Peter 3:3, 4.

Why is it wise to have a balanced view?

Concerning physical beauty, some say: “If you’ve got it, flaunt it!” In cultures where such thinking is common, adolescent and even preadolescent girls learn to view themselves “as objects of others’ desires . . . , to be looked at and evaluated for their appearance,” says a report by the APA. That view can be most harmful. In  fact, it has become a major social and health concern that, according to the APA, may lead to “a host of negative emotional consequences.” These may include anxiety and “even self-disgust . . . , eating disorders, low self-esteem, and depression or depressed mood.”

“Remove troublesome things from your heart, and ward off harmful things from your body, for youth and the prime of life are futility.”Ecclesiastes 11:10.

What attitude reflects a sound mind?

The Bible associates “soundness of mind,” or sensibleness, with modesty. (1 Timothy 2:9) Consider: Modest people are not superficial or vain, obsessing about their looks, but they have a healthy, balanced view of themselves. They also consider the feelings of others and thus earn admiration, respect and, above all, God’s favor. (Micah 6:8) Moreover, they are more likely to make true friends and attract potential marriage mates who are interested not just in physical intimacy but also in a lasting and happy union.

For many good reasons, then, the Bible exhorts us to focus on the inner person—“the secret person of the heart.” (1 Peter 3:3, 4) Inner beauty truly is ageless. In fact, it can improve with time! “Gray hair is a crown of beauty when it is found in the way of righteousness,” says Proverbs 16:31. Hence, whether young or old, people who heed the Bible’s superior advice will find the key not only to the beauty that lasts but also to dignity and contentment.

“Charm may be false, and beauty may be fleeting, but the woman who fears Jehovah will be praised.”Proverbs 31:30.

But I have an observation: How can we or anyone say that this person or this child or this girl women even animals are the most beautiful, because of two reasons in my humble opinion and they are:

  1. EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
  2. LACK OF VISION AND SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCE AND CELEBRITY STATUS.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

Every person has a different way to see beauty even we talk about sex symbols or sexuality or sensual and that is another subject, but the reality is God create variety of things. Now let me show you and give you an example. Lets talk about Africa as an example:

Peul Wodaabe Pastoralists Gathering – Niger. Tagayet
Look at this men preparing himself for this tribe this men are beautiful now: IS FOR YOU?
Will you considered that beautiful? Well guess what, for people in Africa they are not only beautiful but sexual. So that is why I mention as my first point about beauty is again>”EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.”

How can anyone say that this is the most beautiful?

Now let me and us use some common sense. First any human today lives around average 80 years old some more other less, in the past not only years but centuries and even the beginning of time no one know how people look so is impossible to say that this person or even animal is the most beautiful, now with today technology and social media exposure we can appreciate some of the beauty in all aspects but again is impossible because no one can see everything or everyone. But there is nothing wrong to see and appreciate beauty in images.

At the end of the day lets enjoy beauty lets enjoy Gods creation Men Women Children and above all our Planet Earth, but lets enjoy more the beauty that is the most important just one thing be a good person in simple words.

Now in my next post lets see some of our beauty of people just in the outside because remember beauty is EYE OF BEHOLDER. ENJOY.
